Economist graduated from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador, Master in Business Economics from Instituto Centroamericano de Administración de Empresas (INCAE) and with a Public Policy certificate from Harvard Business School.
With a high experience in the public sector. She has served as Public Policy Coordinator of the Coordinating Ministry of Production, Employment and Competitiveness; Vice Minister of Rural Development of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Aquaculture and Fisheries; Adviser in the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing; Vice Minister of Foreign Trade Policies and Services; Executive Director of the Institute for the Promotion of Exports and Investment PRO Ecuador; and, General Director of the National Public Procurement Service – SERCOP, until today.
With extensive experience in international organizations, she worked as Specialist in Policy, Commerce and Agribusiness at the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) and Dutch Cooperation. Silvana Vallejo is co-author of several books, articles and scientific documents and as a teacher has experience in several Universities in Ecuador, where she was a recognized Professor of Public Policy.
Among the most important institutional achievements, within the National Public Procurement Service of Ecuador, is the achievement, in the year 2019, of the Certification to ISO 37001: 2016 Anti-bribery Management System, marking a significant milestone in Ecuador, being the first Institution of the State at national and inter-American level to obtain an Anti-Bribery Certification.
